In which I show my tastes and oddities

The main purpose of this section is to brag about the physical media I own.
Yup, I'm one of those annoying physical media people.

I got a CD player in March 2025, and if I go sufficiently insane, I will also one day get cassette and vinyl players. So, I'll put both what I have, and what I want.
I'm not sure if I'll remove anything I trade, lose, or give away. Maybe I'll just make the background different? You'll know when I made my decision because this paragraph will have changed to the explanation lmao

Secondarily, I want to include music I just like, even if I'm not actively planning on buying it.

If you have any recommendations or wanna show me your collection, please contact me, I want to see.

Physical music I have

Cover Name - Artist Format Additional Info
Obras Cumbres - Divididos CD
(Hardcover)
Argentine Rock.
Compilation. Gifted by a beloved friend.
Not on any streaming services I can think of.
The song selection is good, but it has none of my personal faves, sadly.

  2. La Mosca Porteña
  3. Haciendo Cosas Raras
  4. Un Montón de Huesos
  5. Nene de Antes

  14. Vengo del Placard del Otro
  15. Un Alegre en este Infierno
Los Intocables (1987) - Los Intocables CD
(Paper Sleeve)
Argentine Ska (not sure what kind).
It hasn't been in production in decades. I found it by pure freak chance, for much cheaper than it usually goes for.
Subterrannia (2000) - Satélite Kingston CD
(Jewel Case)
Argentine Ska-Jazz.
First album by this band. I actually have a French reprint from 2002. The only difference is in the cover.
Greatest Hits (1996) - The Selecter CD
(Jewel Case)
British 2-Tone Ska.
Compilation.
I literally walked into a record store and bought the first checkerboard thing I saw. I had never heard of The Selecter before, and I really like them!
Contains the following songs:
  1. Three Minute Hero
  2. Too Much Pressure
  3. Celebrate the Bullet

  16. Last Tango in Dub
Todo Ska-P (2013) - Ska-P CD
(Jewel Case)
Spanish Ska-Punk (very self-explanatory)
Compilation. Kinda strange selection. Has some faves.
The CD itself seems to be much more sensitive to smudges. It's the only one that stutters and skips in my CD player, even though there's definitely dirtier discs.
Contains the following songs:
  1. Cannabis
  2. Sexo y Religión
  3. El Vals del Obrero
  4. España Va Bien

  18. Juan Sin Tierra
  19. Wild Spain
Vol 12 - Laboratorio Telefónico (2024) - Kurvo CD
(Zine/Digipak)
Chilean art experiment.
This CD is a set of musicalised fragments of real phone calls made to a public phone number set up by the Kurvo art group.
The zine it comes in includes a short statement about the project, a few photographs, and some paintings.
Lovely stuff.
Grandes Éxitos (1991) - Virus CD
(Jewel Case)
Argentine Rock, Pop, New Wave.
Compilation. The selection here is fantastic. As the name says, it's a collection of their greatest hits. There's some I would've included that aren't here, but it has pretty much everything I'd show to someone I was trying to get into Virus.
Contains the following songs:
  1. Luna De Miel En La Mano
  2. Wadu-Wadu
  3. Amor Descartable
  4. Desesperado Secuencia Uno

  10. Pronta Entrega
  11. Loco, Coco
  12. Caliente Café
Blue Eyed Blues (1995) - The Yardbirds CD
(Jewel Case)
Blues.
Compilation. My grandma gave this CD and the one below as a gift, cus she knows I like blues. I hadn't listened to either of them before but they're really good! The case in this one is a lil busted, I might try to get a replacement in the future...
Contains the following songs:
  1. 23 Hours Too Long
  2. Out On The Water Coast
  3. Five Long Years
  4. I Ain't Got You

  12. I See A Man Downstairs
The Texas Tornado (1996) - Johnny Winter CD
(Jewel Case)
Also Blues.
Compilation. I think I like this one a little bit more. Looking into both of these, seems like they were released in Brazil and Europe in the mid-90s? There's a bunch of them.
Contains the following songs:
  1. Road Runner
  2. Gangster Of Love
  3. Leave My Woman Alone
  4. I Cant Believe You Want To Leave
  5. Thats What Love Does

??? Double-sided Vynil record The most mysterious item...
It seems to be a collection of kids' songs packaged in the cover of a My Chemical Romance album (Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, I think).
Also gifted by a beloved friend.
As we don't own a record player (yet), I can't say if they're good or not

Physical music I want but don't have

This is for stuff I'm actively looking for or know how to get but haven't gotten around to.

Cover Name Additional info
Argh! (2004) - WDK Argentine Ska-Punk.
A friend showed this album to me because I had never heard of the band and we wanted to go see them play.
Loved their shit, both live and in this album. So, I wanted to have a physical copy... but it's no longer in production. Every time I see it online, it is sold in a matter of hours. I even reached out to the band and got told they sadly don't have any available CDs left...
Quebec (2003) - Ween My favorite Ween album :3
Don't think I'll ever find this in the wild, but I can dream.
Hiri Zakar Zikina (2022) - Skabidean This or any Skabidean album.
They're a fantastic Basque ska-rocksteady band that will most likely never come to or sell in Argentina. How dare this small European band only sell theird shit in Europe!
Relax (1984) - Virus Argentine Rock, Pop, New Wave
Virus is one of my favorite bands ever, and Relax is the album with the most individual songs that I really like. That doesn't make it my favourite album, but it's a fucking good one, still.
Locura (1985) - Virus Now THIS is my favourite album of theirs, so much that I got the cover sewn on the back of my patch jacket.
The album experience is incredible. Sometimes I listen to a few individual songs, but I really really like listening to the whole thing.
One Step Beyond (1979) - Madness Classic British Ska
Insanely good album, just great stuff.

Other music I like (no covers to save storage and space)

I'll still get these if I have the oportunity, but I'm not actively looking for them.

Name Artist Additional info
Sonora de Llegar (2004) Sonora de Llegar Chilean Ska
Shakedown Street (1978) Grateful Dead My favorite Grateful Dead album!
Kūchū Camp (1996) Fishmans Shibuya-kei. Lovely from start to finish
YEAH! YEAH! (2016) Yuji Ohno & Lupintic Six It's hard to pick one Lupin III album... It's pretty much all jazzy and sick as fuck. This is the one I listen to the most cus I really like this version of Zenigata March.
Dale Aborigen (1994) Todos Tus Muertos Argentine Punk (and many other things)
EP (?) (1989?) Skabú Simbel I know very little about this band or how they released (if they released) their music. They were an Argentine Ska band with a surprising amount of influence in other Argentine Ska bands for having so little surviving material of theirs...
Here is a link to a YouTube upload of their music. It claims it's a full EP released in 1989... I have no way of knowing if that's the case, there's even another song of theirs that isn't in that video, but I know I love what I hear.
El Enemigo (2009) Satélite Kingston This is my favorite Satélite Kingston album, so fucking good.
Klub Ska (1999) Skalariak Can you guess what kinda music this is?
The Mollusk (1997) Ween Another great Ween album, perhaps one of their most well-known.
Outer Wilds (Original Soundtrack) (2019) Andrew Pharlow The music is a big part of Outer Wilds. On its own, this is a collection of some great songs, half of which are more ambient-ish, but of course, it's all much more meaningful if you've played the game. Still this is a beautiful soundtrack.
Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye (Original Soundtrack) (2021) Andrew Pharlow Same goes for the DLC, which is its own miniature Outer Wilds, also fantastic. I usually listen to both of these in a single 2+ hours playlist lol
