Errementari (2017)

This one's pretty good! It didn't blow me away, but it's a movie that stuck with me.

It's a Basque movie, spoken entirely in Euskera (apparently in a dialect that is not used anymore), and while the plot itself is not the most unique thing in the world, it's really well done!

It's the early to mid 1800s, Spain has just undergone a civil war, and the titular blacksmith is wanted by the authorities... of hell. He has made a deal with a demon, and there are those who believe the devil lives with him.

I can't say much more, because part of the appeal is finding out what is going on and how it all works.
The story is simple, but the details really make it work. I love that the main demon we see is just a dude, a guy who's kinda strong I suppose. Plus, demons here are mythical creatures with archaic rules they must follow. It's really cool stuff!

I wouldn't say this is an insanely good movie, but it's something different and a good watch!
